Virasat Pune Heritage Week Celebrations 2013

Owing to the popularity of the first Heritage week celebrations in 2012, the second annualVirasat Pune Heritage Week was celebrated from 14th to 21st of April 2013. As a part of this celebration we urged heritage institutions and other organizations related to heritage conservation to reach out to people with their cause and significance.

The institutions that took part in this week are Bharat Itihas Sanshodhak Mandal, Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, National Film Archive of India, Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad, Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum, Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth and Film and Technology Institute of India. Apart from these, the organizations associating with Janwani to offer cultural experience to people through various activities include The Western Routes, Cosmica, Girikand, Nature Walk Outdoors, India Art Foundation, GRIPS Theatre, Avishkar Theatre group and others. Several people are associated at an individual level in support of this week-long celebration of Pune’s heritage.

Some of the events during this week were the Pune Heritage Celebrity Walk, Tree Walks, Freedom Trail, Cultural events at Omkareshwar Temple, Vishrambaug Wada and Nana Wada, Pune Food Hunt, Pune Heritage Cycle Ride, FTII & NFAI Campus Walk, film screenings, plays, lectures and workshops and much more.
