Virasat Pune Heritage Week Celebrations 2012

To commemorate the World Heritage Day on the 18th of April, Janwani organised a first of its kind weeklong celebration from 15th – 22nd April 2012.The idea was to get every strata of the city population involved with the heritage of Pune city. Various activities including workshops, documentary film screening, lectures, exhibitions, discounts for museums visits, heritage cycle ride, art competition, freedom trails, eco trail and story-telling sessions for children and were conducted.

Prestigious organizations like Bharat Itihas Sanshodhak Mandal, NFAI, FTII, IUCCA, Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad, Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth and several museums across the city participated in this event. Omkareshwar Temple premises and Vishrambaug Wada were opened for public for the first time. Classical dance performances for general public were held here.
