Pune Heritage Festival is here! Over the last five years, people’s response to the festival has been overwhelming. The festival has led to emergence of new businesses in heritage tourism, starting of Virasat Pune Club for heritage enthusiasts, a commonly shared platform for heritage institutions to promote their work and significance and so much more. The growing popularity of the festival has rendered it as one of its kind in Maharashtra!
Where does one find over 30 organizations coming together for a commonly shared cause of heritage conservation and offering myriad activities, mostly free of cost, to engage public with history and heritage of the city?
The Festival made its modest beginnings with voluntary efforts by several Punekars. In the same spirit of making it truly people’s festival we urge you to donate and support our efforts for heritage promotion and conservation.
Make a donation!
Virasat Pune is a people’s movement for heritage and culture. Janwani in association with nearly 30 organizations conduct this festival with a singular motive to raise awareness about Pune’s heritage and history in order to generate a sense of pride and belongingness to the city. You can donate any amount. To know more about this year’s festival activities visit the official website for the festival – www.virasatpune.com
How will your donation be utilised?
Each and every donation, of big or small amount, gratefully received, will be utilised towards organizing various free events such as wide range of thematic Heritage Walks, Campus tours of institutions of heritage value, nature walks, children’s activities, workshops etc. These events will be free of any participation fee. The funds will support honorariums to experts and scholars and fees to talented young artists. Heritage institutions in need of funds to organize their activities will be supported through this donation. The donation will also help us invite talented people from other parts of the country to share their work and experience in heritage conservation. In 2014, individual donations received by the festival helped support heritage walk and classical dance performances at Omkareshwar Temple that had an audience of over 500 people!
